Weekly Status: Week 37

How far along? 37 weeks, 4 days
How big is baby? Large enough to be simultaneously pushing on every one of my organs and my ribs.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: No gain since last week
Next Appointment: Our last appointment was on Wednesday. We started with a non-stress test which showed his heartbeat is great and I'd only had a couple of small contractions in 25 minutes. An internal exam showed that I'm not dilated at all. So, my doctor continues to be shocked that he's still hanging out in there, believes it could be any day, and we see her again on Tuesday. Sigh. At least on Tuesday we'll get to see him :) They will do an ultrasound to check on where my placenta is located now, how big the baby is, and fluid levels to make sure they are not any new concerns or risks at this point. I'm worried about all these possibilities, but hopefully he'll be here before Tuesday!
Maternity Clothes: Now that I'm on high alert for impending labor, I'm actually getting dressed properly most days. I can't show up at the hospital looking ridiculous in pajamas.
Sleep: Hahahahah
Best Moment This Week: Date night with husby. We went to one of our favorite restaurants for dinner last night (where we also had our first date and where we found out we were having a boy after our 20wk appt).
Movement: He's all over the place, so maybe he's getting antsy for more room to stretch out?
Planning/Preparation: I spent some time making meals to keep in the freezer, created a spreadsheet with addresses for birth announcements, rewashed some bedding that I'd convinced myself had collected dust in the last few weeks that it has been on the crib....I'm about as prepared as you can be. ::tapping foot::
Belly Button In/Out: My belly button HURTS. It's like it wants to pop out, but there isn't any skin there to pop.
Gender: Yep, still a boy.
What I Miss: Lately I miss working out a lot. I feel like I have no core strength at all anymore and I'm worried I have diatasis recti (where your abdominal muscles completely split), which will make recovery really difficult and likely worsen my lower back issues. We shall see.
What I'm Looking Forward To: Finally meeting him!
Contractions: All day and night on Tuesday, but nothing consistent enough to call the Dr.
Milestones? My stomach in 43". I think that rivals most Biggest Loser contestants, and my regular size bath towels don't close over my belly anymore.

Weekly Status: Week 36

36 weeks, 1 day -- From the front and the side:

How far along? 36 weeks, 4 days
How big is baby? Definitely over 6lbs now, probably closer to 6.5lbs
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Enough already!
Next Appointment: We had an appointment this past Wednesday and had a non-stress test, as well as a visit with our OB. The NST came back just fine, and according to the Dr. I'm not dilated at all and am just in a holding pattern for labor to start sometime. Our next appointment is this coming Wednesday....I never thought we'd get this far!
Maternity Clothes: I currently alternate between two t-shirts (a U of I Homecoming tee and one from my sorority bid night, since they are the largest in the house) and a few pairs of shorts I can till fit in. I do actually get dressed for Dr. visits and when guests come over, but I'm sure our cleaning lady and dog walker think I look like I'm one step away from living in a box on lower Wacker.
Sleep: So they say you can only sleep for a couple hours at a time when the baby arrives, and I'd actually welcome that right now. Sounds heavenly. Between numb shoulders and hips, my aching neck, getting up to use the bathroom, nighttime acid reflux, and feeling like it's 5000 degrees in our bedroom, I'm not sleeping at all. The good news is that since the baby dropped I don't have numb ribs anymore and it's easier to breathe- if I can sort out a couple of the other issues, I think I'll sleep again.
Best Moment This Week: When I ate Corn Fritters from Brown's Chicken. Oh, or when I got my nails done last night. Sorry, it can't all be baby related.
Planning/Preparation: I wanted to do a little painting in the baby's room today, but trying to get close enough to the wall with my stomach is quite impossible right now. So I got mad, cried, stopped, and then had some Cocoa Pebbles. At least it ended well!
Belly Button In/Out: In, but it feels like it's about to burst.
Gender: Bouncing Baby Boy
What I Miss: Being able to eat a meal without heartburn
What I'm Looking Forward To: Seeing my little boy's face!
Contractions: Nope
Milestones? My Dr. thought there was no way I'd get through 36 weeks, and I only have 3 days left!

Weekly Survey: Week 35

How far along? 35 weeks, 5 days
How big is baby? just under 6 lbs, according to our ultrasound on Thursday
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Still gaining, and if I can cap out 3lbs from now, I'll be happy
Next Appointment: We were just there on Thursday and had an ultrasound and checkup. This was ultrasound #14!! He just loves attention. This time we got a really clear shot of his face and huge cheeks, which look so cute. In other good news, he's still head down, measuring ahead, and all of the cervical and placenta measurements were an improvement over the last ultrasound. We'll be back on Wednesday, if the little guy doesn't make an appearance before then.
Maternity Clothes: I'm now in the mindset of getting out of maternity and figuring out what I need to buy in the way of nursing tanks and tops.
Sleep:I'm having a much harder time breathing this past week, so sleep is getting hard, too.
Best Moment This Week: Getting his baby book in the mail and getting another peek at his face :)
Movement: Still frequent and more painful with each passing day, but it's great that I can still feel him squirming around.
Planning/Preparation: Lots of random little things to do, but for the most part we're ready!
Belly Button In/Out: Flat, not popped out.
Gender: Yep, still a boy.
What I Miss: Being able to take a deep breath.
What I'm Looking Forward To: Meeting our son and hoping he looks like one of the 2 names we've chosen.
Contractions: Nada.
Milestones? I'm 2 days away from 36 weeks!

Weekly Survey: Weeks 33 & 34

How far along? 34 weeks, 3 days (photo above taken today)
How big is baby? We'll find out exactly next week, but a week ago he was 4lbs 14oz
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Steadily gaining as he gets bigger and bedrest continues, but still a few pounds away from my "scary weight"
Next Appointment: We have an appt and ultrasound next Thursday. Since my last post, we've been the to the doc twice. There was some concern about my platelet count, but it turns out that's fine and my anemia is back...more iron pills for me. We talked about when to call the doc, when to head to the hospital, finalized our birth plan, and got the news that our OB will be "shocked if we get past 36 weeks". Yep, that's in a week and a half!
Maternity Clothes: About all that's comfy now is sundresses and skirts, which seems a bit much for bedrest, right? So, I alternate between being a total slob in my pjs and being completely overdressed for a day of Internet surfing and tv watching.
Sleep: It varies. The hardest thing now is actually hoisting myself out of bed to use the bathroom. I sometimes need to wake up husby to push me out of bed.
Best Moment This Week: Seeing the nursery in a more complete state yesterday. My parents were over and hung curtains, rearranged furniture, and helped me put some things away. There's still work to do, but it feels more like a nursery now, and even Lucy is behaving in there.
Movement: He doesn't seem to be such a night owl anymore (fingers crossed that holds true when he's on the outside). There are periods of 30-60 min during the day that he just rolls around and kicks like crazy. Since he's running out of room, his movement is a little more uncomfortable for me, but I'm so happy I have an active baby who lets me know he's doing ok while we're on bedrest.
Planning/Preparation: We have a pediatrician now, only one more prenatal class to go, fancy new camera coming in the mail any day now, hospital bag packed, Lucy's bag packed, iPod, Flip, and old camera all charged and ready to go, baby clothes/blankets/burp clothes washed, all infant care items purchased and in the right place (thanks Mom).... how do I still have a TO DO list that runs two pages?? I need a haircut so terribly; I'm trying to figure out when I can get Andrew to take me somewhere. I'm still in the midst of reading two books on vaccines and breastfeeding and would like to finish those asap.
Belly Button In/Out: Flat, not popped out.
Gender: Yep, still a boy.
What I Miss: Being able to eat without heartburn. It's been terrible for a few weeks now.
What I'm Looking Forward To: Meeting our son and hoping he looks like one of the 2 names we've chosen.
Contractions: Nada.
Milestones? Hitting 34 weeks and knocking out an entire page on the TO DO list.

Weekly Status: 30 Weeks

How far along? 30 weeks, 4 days
How big is baby? 3 lbs, 9 oz.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I forgot my new policy and looked at the scale. Somehow, since my weigh in two weeks ago and sitting on my butt for a full week with a growing baby, I'm down 3 lbs. I guess not being able to get up to get snacks has helped!
Next Appointment: My 30 wk appt was this afternoon, including a 3D ultrasound. I go back again next Wednesday and am now on weekly appts.
Maternity Clothes: I've been pretty much in hospital robes or comfies for the past week. It was nice to actually get dressed for my appt today.
Sleep: I'm finally starting to catch up the last few nights, but the vivid dreams are wigging me out.
Best Moment This Week: Seeing my little boy's face today. Even though it was kinda smooshed, and only his profile, I could see him blink and move his lips, check out his chubby cheeks, and see all of his fingers and toes- which were all right by his face! He's quite the little contortionist, so we'll have to get him on the right track early....no son of mine will be in the circus.
Movement: He likes to put his feet under the right side of my ribcage, which is more uncomfortable than I think you can imagine. Most babies his age have 3 active periods a day of 6 or so noticeable movements in 30 min. I've counted 6-7 active periods a day for a few days now and pretty much constant motion for a good 20 minutes each time. He has his daddy's energy.
Planning/Preparation: Things have come to a screeching halt since being put on bed rest. I'm trying not to freak out, so I'm making a list of what I can do from the couch- write thank you cards, create closet hangers to divide clothes, finally finish our wedding album (seriously, this needs to get done before we bring him home).
Belly Button In/Out: Kinda flat now.
Gender: BIG Baby Boy
What I Miss: Life before bed rest.
What I'm Looking Forward To: For now, it's just getting from day to day. Each day we can keep him in there is an accomplishment - I will keep praying that we can get to 32 weeks, and when we get there, I'll start praying for 34.
Contractions: None since last Friday...phew.
Milestones? Hitting the f75% mark at 30 weeks!

Weekly Survey: 28 -29.5 Weeks

Photo at 29 weeks, 1 day.

A lot has been happening, so I need to backtrack to the post I planned to put up on Wednesday night for weeks 28 & 29, but then post again with the second half of week 29. Crazy days.

How far along?
29 weeks, 4 days
How big is baby? 3 lbs, 10 oz.- 75th percentile for height, weight.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I've stopped weighing myself and have told me Dr. to just let me know if she has concerns. It's getting to scary to watch the scale go up and up and up.
Next Appointment: My 28 wk appt went really well! We started with a blood draw for my Rhogam test, the headed up to drink that nasty glucose stuff. If you have a mega-sweet tooth, or if you're 5 years old, then I'd imagine you might like the drink. Try to imagine what an orange flavor ice tastes like when it's melted. Then stir in about 3 cups of granulated sugar. And let it sit at room temperature. Ahhh. Refeshing. The good news is that I passed the test! No gestational diabetes for this girl. Since the hubs and I have conflicting blood types, I went back for the Rhogam shot, too. When I can say that a needle in the butt cheek was better than an orange drink, you know the drink was bad, right?
Time to peek in on the little bambino: he looks great and is in a breech position for now. We got to see his adorable face and eyes (opened and closed), watched him kick around a bit, and got a few more pics for the scrapbook.
More vitals/bloodwork showed that I have low blood pressure, a small amount of protein in my urine, and anemia- so I have a new prescription.
Maternity Clothes: Quickly reaching the "no longer cute" stage.
Sleep: I guess I'll catch up on sleep when he goes to college, right?
Best Moment This Week: I need to start keeping track of these moments. I know that I've made several mental notes of these to add to my blog, but I can never quite remember when I sit down to write. I'm certain that the best moment was my shower, but I'm going to do a separate shower post after my shower this weekend.
Movement: Baby's new "thing" is pushing back against my desk. Of course, I can't sit right up to the edge of my desk anymore, so I have to stretch a bit to reach the keyboard, and the edge of my belly presses up against the desk. He'll almost immediately push back and then roll around. I kinda feel bad....but not so bad that I don't do it repeatedly. It's cute!
Planning/Preparation: I picked up a few things to organize the closet, started an inventory of the various items we've borrowed from friends so that I can return everything when we're done, and I have no less than 10 "to do" lists that are baby related- suddenly it seems there's no time.
Belly Button In/Out: I'm now willing to put money on keeping my innie.
Gender: BIG Baby Boy
What I Miss: Sleeping on my stomach, walking up stairs without getting winded, hot dogs & beer (can't help it...start of baseball season).
What I'm Looking Forward To: We're having a 3D ultrasound at 30 weeks, so I can't wait to get a closer look at his sweet face. We also start our Prenatal classes in the next couple weeks, and we certainly have a lot to learn.
Contractions: Nope
Milestones? My first baby shower! Two nights of only getting up to use the bathroom one time- sadly, this is a milestone.

Weekly Survey: 27 Weeks

How far along? 27 weeks, 4 days
How big is baby? Big enough to make all my pants roll down
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Um, lots. I think I've got a couple pounds of vacation weight tacked onto the total, too.
Next Appointment: Just a few more days until my 28 week when I'll have my glucose test, a rhogam shot, and check up- big day!
Maternity Clothes: I think it's time to size up. I can't believe I'm still going to get bigger than this.
Sleep: I'm giving in and buying a Snoogle. Actually, I will spend as much as I have to in order to find a product that will help me sleep. The Boppy thing isn't working anymore. I've tried 5 other pillows, I've tried my 1/2 Unisom. No luck. Of course, on vacation, I slept great. So, I have to assume the sleep issues are also stress related.
Best Moment This Week: Lucy snuggled her face into my belly when I was laying on the floor next to her, petting her. It was so cute, even if it was totally unintentional.
Movement: He's getting more active at night now and gives me a little wakeup call consistently at 3am.
Planning/Preparation: This weekend our plan is to finish clearing out the baby's room so we can start loading it up with furniture and other goodies!
Belly Button In/Out: Still in, just barely (see pic from last post- eek)
Gender: Bouncing Baby Boy
What I Miss: Being able to eat a meal without heartburn
What I'm Looking Forward To: Getting back on a regular yoga schedule
Contractions: Nope
Milestones? The official start of my last trimester!

Sunday, May 2, 2010

Weekly Survey: 25 - 26 Weeks

How far along? I'm covering two weeks due to vacation, so now I have to think back a bit..
How big is baby? They say about 3 lbs at this point!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I've refused to weigh myself until my next Dr. appt
Next Appointment: May 12th
Maternity Clothes: I'm already growing out of things I bought early on- booo! They lie to you at the boutiques. Nothing you buy will fit the entire pregnancy unless you buy a tent.
Sleep: Terrible in the hotel in Florida, but then wonderful in Aruba (maybe we need a King size bed when there are three of us in there?)
Best Moment This Week: I was really proud of myself for sticking it out all night at the wedding reception. 8 hours in 3 inch heels, no drinking, still dancing a bit through the night and taking the group shuttle home- not bad for a pregnant chick who was ready to go to bed at 9pm.
Movement: All the time now
Planning/Preparation: I received invitations to my first two showers before leaving for vacation- very cute!
Belly Button In/Out: Still in
Gender: All man.
What I Miss: Sitting comfortably on a plane
What I'm Looking Forward To: Getting his room set up
Contractions: Nope
Milestones? While on vacation we reached our viability date (the date at which if the baby is born early they are confident they can medically sustain life- end of 24 weeks)

Thursday, April 15, 2010

Weekly Survey: 24 Weeks

How far along? 24 weeks, 4 days
How big is baby? About a foot long (every time I say it I think of Subway...gross)
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Decided not to weigh in this week.
Next Appointment: 4 more weeks
Maternity Clothes: Summer wardrobe has been purchased (in preparation for vacation) :)
Sleep: It has been SO much better the past week with some breathing exercises my tree-huggin, granola-eatin yoga teacher taught me.
Best Moment This Week: Another yoga class outside
Movement: He loves the sugar rush of Thin Mints (at least this is how I justify eating 10 in a sitting)
Planning/Preparation: It's all here, ready to be assembled
Belly Button In/Out: I give it two weeks to pop out.
Gender: All man.
What I Miss: Rolling around on the floor, playing with Lucy.
What I'm Looking Forward To: Vacation tomorrow!
Contractions: Nope
Milestones? We found out this week that Baby S will be greeting a little girl cousin when he's about 4 weeks old!

Friday, April 9, 2010

Weekly Survey: 23 Weeks

How far along? 23 weeks, 4 days
How big is baby? The size of a spaghetti squash!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: About 20 total at this point, so I'd better slow down!
Next Appointment: Well, it was supposed to be next week, but the baby had other plans. I ended up going in for an emergency appt yesterday since I'd had consistent abdominal pain for about 12 hours and was getting worried. Still waiting on some test results to come in, but it sounds like I need to wear a pregnancy belt to get him off my bladder. The other pain is a combo of RLP comign back with a vengance and dehydration causing cramping/contractions. My next appt will be in 4 weeks and is a big one with my glucose test, an ultrasound, blood draw and rhogam shot. Looks like I'll need a 1/2 day to take care of all that.
Maternity Clothes: I'm sick of wearing the same 4 pairs of pants over and over and can't wait to break into shorts and dresses as it gets warmer.
Sleep: I have no idea what that means.
Best Moment This Week: Hearing his heartbeat again yesterday. He started kicking when he heard his heart on the loud Doppler :)
Movement: He's still very active at certain times of day but mostly likes to hang out in a bladder hammock he seems to have settled right into.
Food Cravings: Nothing in particular.
Planning/Preparation: Furniture is available for pick up today!
Belly Button In/Out: Shaaaaaaallow. ew.
Gender: Um, still a boy? Not really expecting a change here.
What I Miss: Laying flat on my back, as well as the ability to go from laying to sitting without the need for a crane or accompanying grunting.
What I'm Looking Forward To: My next appointment.
Contractions: Yep, and glad they are gone. Need for immediate epidural confirmed.
Milestones?

Thursday, April 1, 2010

Weekly Survey: 22 weeks

How far along? 22 weeks, 3 days
How big is baby? The size of a spaghetti squash!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Up another pound
Next Appointment: Not for 2 more weeks.
Maternity Clothes: A little more shopping, mostly for our upcoming vacations, which has been perfect timing for the record high temps this week.
Sleep: sigh...
Best Moment This Week: My first prenatal yoga class. Amazing.
Movement: He's all over the place in there and has taken to kicking me in the middle of the night. I think he's bored.
Food Cravings: Nothing in particular.
Planning/Preparation: I guess this past week we took a "break" from all things baby to follow through on the far less interesting "all things work".
Belly Button In/Out: Shaaaaaaallow. ew.
Gender: Um, still a boy? Not really expecting a change here.
What I Miss: Hearing things other than my heartbeat via my left ear.
What I'm Looking Forward To: My next appointment.
Contractions: Nope
Milestones?

Weekly Survey: 20 Weeks

Bad blogger. Completely got behind this week. I do work, ya know.

How far along? 20 weeks, 3 days
How big is baby? 1 pound and measuring at the 58th percentile
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I plead the 5th.
Next Appointment: Not for 4 more weeks.
Maternity Clothes: Love em. I used to come home from work, and try to get out of my too tight jeans as quickly as possible. You know how when you crack open a tube of Pillsbury rolls on the counter, the white puffy stuff just starts oozing out everywhere, until you peel back the shell and then it breaks free and blows up? Yeah, that was me getting undressed every night. Maternity clothes are SO much better.
Sleep: The dog and the Mr. need to stop snoring for me to discuss sleep.
Best Moment This Week: Finding out that I'm going to have a son! Bring on the tiny argyle sweater vests, little Cubs caps, and eternal devotion to yours truly!
Movement: Pretty consistently before falling asleep, just after waking up, and between 4-5pm. Baby hates working late.
Food Cravings: If I see it and want it, I MUST have it.
Planning/Preparation: According to my OB, I'm way ahead of the game with all my planning. According to the Mr, I'm neurotic and way too organized (but he's thankful for it, at least).
Belly Button In/Out: In, but kinda shallow.
Gender: BOY! (na-na-na-na-na-naaaa...I was right.)
What I Miss: Nothing this week. Too happy to miss anything.
What I'm Looking Forward To: My crazy new side effects going away. More on this later.
Contractions: Nope
Milestones? I'm going to be a mother in law! (this might be premature, but I'm assuming my son will be so adorable, intelligent, and charming he'll be snatched up early by some little vixen I'll have to learn to love because she'll give me grandchildren one day. I'm setting my sights low on that as to not be disappointed- how's that for long term planning?!)

Tuesday, March 9, 2010

Weekly Survey: 19 weeks

Supposedly that's what Baby S looks like right now. Yeah, that. Up there. Creeptastic, right? I mean, am I growing a contortionist or what?! Since I saw him/her a few days ago, I can tell you with total confidence that I've created a home for Baby S that currently allows for a lot more lounging and stretching than what you see there. You're welcome, Baby S.

How far along? 19 weeks, 2 days
How big is baby? 6" long
Total Weight Gain/Loss: More. More than I want to tell you.
Next Appointment: One week from today!! It's the big day :)
Maternity Clothes: I'm officially on a buying freeze after things got a tad out of control since my last post.
Sleep: Better the last few days!
Best Moment This Week: My surprise ultrasound! They didn't have a Doppler available at my last appt, so I got a free ultrasound and saw all kinds of rolling and kicking. Amazing.
Movement: Finally! I've felt the baby moving a few times and kicking once.
Food Cravings: Still potatoes, still sweets, still corned beef.
Planning/Preparation: Shower planning has started, names have been narrowed, and we've started looking at our local parishes for Baptism/CCD/preschool, etc.
Belly Button In/Out: In, but kinda shallow.
Gender: The Dr knows already (she saw last Thurs), and we'll find out on Tuesday.
What I Miss: Some of my cute clothes.
What I'm Looking Forward To: Finding out if we'll have a son or a daughter (I still say son)
Contractions: Nope
Milestones? First real kick!

19 wks, 3 days. Just for you, Andrea!

Monday, March 1, 2010

Weekly Survey: 18 weeks

How far along? 18 weeks, 1 day
How big is baby? More than 5.5" long...crazy!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Up another 1/2 pound for 9 total
Next Appointment: This Thursday
Maternity Clothes: They're growing on me. (Rather, I'm growing in them.
Stretch Marks: Not any new ones.
Sleep: Yeah, sleep would be nice....
Best Moment This Week: Exchanging name lists with the Mr. so we could start narrowing them down and finding out that we had a ton of overlap already...what are the chances?!
Movement: Still waiting. Booo :(
Food Cravings: Still potatoes, and I was on a big sweets kick the past week with ice cream cake roll, mint chip ice cream, cookies, tons of fruit.
Planning/Preparation: Narrowing down names this week as we get ready for the big u/s appt, finally ordering furniture (nursery post to come soon).
Belly Button In/Out: In
Gender: We'll know in 2 wks
What I Miss: Sleep
What I'm Looking Forward To: Feeling the baby move
Contractions: Nope
Milestones? I haven't had a headache in a week!

Tuesday, February 23, 2010

Weekly Survey: 17 weeks

How far along? 17 weeks, 1 day
How big is baby? Big enough to require me to have an elastic waist on all clothing
Total Weight Gain/Loss:
I've hit a total of 8.5lbs in 17 weeks, but most of that is in the last 3 weeks! Time to break up with Peanut M&Ms.
Next Appointment: Check up next week
Maternity Clothes: Expensive. Well, if you want to look remotely fashionable.
Stretch Marks: Not any new ones.
Sleep: Still tired all the time (wasn't the 2nd tri supposed to be a break?) and not sleeping well.
Best Moment This Week: We heard the baby's heartbeat last Tuesday!!
Movement: Nothing since last week, so maybe I was wrong. (Savor the fact that I'm admitting that- it's not often I do)
Food Cravings: Potatoes, potatoes, potatoes and peanut butter. Not together; I'm not crazy.
Planning/Preparation: We're working on names this week. My sister suggested Pliny the Elder when we spotted it at a museum exhibit. It has a nice ring, no? After a quick wiki search, I learned that this was only a nickname (no wonder it's so catchy!) and his real name was Gaius. Coincidentally, Gaius is the Mr.'s favorite character on BSG, so I'm not even mentioning this. Ever.
Belly Button In/Out: In
Gender: We'll know in 3 wks
What I Miss: Coming Soon- a post with more details.
What I'm Looking Forward To: Feeling the baby move
Contractions: Nope
Milestones? Sleeping for 6 straight hours. Sad, but this was a real highlight!

Monday, February 15, 2010

Weekly Survey: 16 weeks

How far along? 16 weeks, 1 day
How big is baby? about 4" long and the size of an avocado (hopefully less green)
Total Weight Gain/Loss:
Up 1.5 to hit the weight gain my Dr. recommended by my 16wk visit. I have cheese to thank for that.
Next Appointment: Tomorrow
Maternity Clothes: Huge sale at Gap Maternity and scored a bunch of new clothes tonight.
Stretch Marks: Nope, but I've purchased 3 kinds of lotion to avoid this and soothe the insane itching I have now.
Sleep: Work is still keeping me up nights and giving me headaches.
Best Moment This Week: Shopping for cribs with the Mr.
Movement: I think I felt the baby for the first time today!! I'm still not sure if that's what it was, but it happened a couple times, so now I keep waiting for it to happen again.
Food Cravings: Still pickles (so cliche) and more sweets lately. Oh, and pretty much anything I see anyone else eating that's not seafood.
Planning/Preparation: We started shopping for nursery furniture and began looking through a baby name book.
Belly Button In/Out: In
Gender: Well, if it's not a girl, I'm beginning to think the Mr. and I might be the only ones who aren't disappointed. LOTS of boys in both families. I still think it's a boy- the Mr. doesn't have a hunch.
What I Miss: Coming Soon- a post with more details.
What I'm Looking Forward To: Hearing the baby's heartbeat tomorrow.
Contractions: Nope
Milestones? Spending 35 minutes on the treadmill and running the majority of that time...ah, felt so good.

Tuesday, February 9, 2010

How big is baby? a LEMON

Next Appointment: One week from today

Stretch Marks: Nope
Sleep: Much better. Work stress is causing more of my insomnia than the baby is at this point.

Belly Button In/Out: In

Contractions: Nope
Milestones? I worked out two days in a row and even got to run :)

Wednesday, January 27, 2010

Weekly Survey: 13 weeks

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Still only up 2lbs from my starting weight, but the plan is to put on another 2lbs by my next appt.
Next Appointment: At 16 weeks- 2/16/09
Maternity Clothes: I wore my first maternity shirt out the other night, but mostly since I think it's cute and not at all matronly.
Stretch Marks: Nope
Sleep: The past week has been a little better. I'm only getting up to pee 3 times a night now, so that helps keep me asleep longer.
Best Moment This Week: Telling two more sets of parents and then my closest friends about the baby!
Movement: Nothing yet
Food Cravings: My appetite has increased this past week and while I still crave red meat (I'm trying to cut back), I'm also all about anything salty...popcorn, french fries, olives...ok, make that FATTENING and salty :)
Planning/Preparation: I'm in the middle of three pregnancy books. I'm on preparation overload.
Belly Button In/Out: In
What I Miss: Running (I never thought I'd say that). Chai Tea Lattes. Flat Stomach.
What I'm Looking Forward To: I get to workout this week!

Weekly Survey: 12 Weeks

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I'm up 2lbs from my starting weight
Next Appointment: In 4 wks
Maternity Clothes: First shopping trip a few days ago (I'm sure the Mr was bored silly), and I picked up 2 shirts and a pair of jeans at Gap Maternity that don't fit now but will soon enough.
Stretch Marks: Nope
Sleep: Same insomnia issues, and I have to be dragged out of bed every morning.
Best Moment This Week: Seeing the baby rolling around, waving, kicking
Movement: None that I can feel, but based on the u/s this kid doesn't sit still
Food Cravings: I could eat corned beef and pickles every single day, and indulged in a huge sandwich on Sunday. I'm still on all things beef, but trying not to OD on red meat. My new drink of choice is club soda with pomegranate juice and a lime. So not the same as a cocktail, but I'm sick of water.
Planning/Preparation: I've become obsessed with looking at nurseries online and drooling over cribs that I know I'll never buy since they cost more than my bed, but damn, there's some cute stuff out there. I guess that counts as planning.
Belly Button In/Out: In
What I Miss: Pilates. Most of my jeans. Excedrin Migraine.
What I'm Looking Forward To: Clearance to exercise in a week. Prenatal Yoga. Maternity Jeans. No more headaches.
Contractions: Nope
Milestones: Wrapping up the 1st trimester!

Tuesday, January 12, 2010

Weekly Survey: 11 weeks

Now that I'm wrapping up the first trimester, I guess it's about time I start keeping track of all these little things I'm sure I'd otherwise forget about one day when my life is a steady stream of diapers, night feedings, and crying...and I need a reminder of how excited I once was for this baby to arrive!

Total weight gain/loss:
Up a total of 1.5 pounds in 11 weeks, but it feels like 10.
Next Appointment: Tuesday, January 19; first trimester screening
Maternity clothes? I'm about ready to bust out the Bella Band and say adios to buttoning my jeans.
Stretch marks: Nope. Well, none that are new!
Sleep: Hahahaha, yeah. Getting up 5 or 6 times a night to pee really doesn't leave much time for sleep.
Best moment this week: Seeing how happy my family was when we told them about the baby.
Movement: Nada.
Food cravings: Beef. Italian beef, corned beef, beef chili, steak, Beefaroni (yeah, seriously). For some reason, I've been all over red meat this week.
Food aversions: None
Planning/Preparations: I suppose I should get on some planning soon.
Belly Button in or out: In
What I miss: Wine, skinny jeans, bras that fit.
What I am looking forward to: Telling the rest of the family and our friends.
Contractions: Not even close.
Milestones: Telling my family about the baby and actually seeing facial features in the last u/s!
